Telangana Releases ₹687.5 Crore for Sunkishala, Water Works
The Telangana government has approved ₹687.5 crore for water-related work in Hyderabad.
The money will go to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board.
One part is a loan for the Sunkishala Intake Project.
Another part is a loan for the board’s development and infrastructure works.
The final ₹75 crore will repay costs linked to a scheme that provides 20 KL of free water.
The funds come from the 2026–27 budget estimates.

Telangana sanctioned a total of ₹687.5 crore to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board.
Of the total, ₹250 crore was sanctioned as a loan for the Sunkishala Intake Project under the Krishna Drinking Water Supply Project.
A further ₹362.5 crore was sanctioned as a loan for development works by the board.
The remaining ₹75 crore will reimburse the board under the 20 KL free water supply scheme.
