Madras High Court Seeks Report on ₹4 Crore Cheating Complaint
The Madras High Court is checking a complaint involving former Minister C. Vijayabaskar.

The Madras High Court directed Pudukottai police to submit a progress report by September 15 on a cheating complaint against former Minister C. Vijayabaskar.
AIADMK candidate Dhana Vimal accused Vijayabaskar of withholding ₹4 crore allegedly collected before the election.
Vimal said he mobilised ₹4.5 crore after being asked to demonstrate his ability to fund campaign expenses, but received only ₹50 lakh back.
Police told the court that Illuppur police had begun a preliminary inquiry and had summoned Vimal to appear on August 28.
The court has not ordered registration of a First Information Report, and the allegations remain unproven.
