Bengaluru Police Intercept Kerala Car With ₹9 Crore Cash
Police in Bengaluru stopped a car traveling toward Hosur.
They said the car had ₹9 crore in cash that had not been properly accounted for.
The cash was reportedly hidden inside the car and was in ₹500 notes.
Two people were in the vehicle.
One of them was identified as Sachin, who is linked to a jewellery business in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu.
The people said the money belonged to them and was meant to buy land.
Income Tax officials took over the inquiry.
They also reported finding another ₹1.3 crore at Sachin’s premises.
Bengaluru police intercepted a Kerala-registered Hyundai Creta carrying ₹9 crore in allegedly unaccounted cash.
The car was stopped near Electronic City on Hosur Road at about 10:30 p.m. on August 18.
The interception followed a tip-off from Income Tax Unit 22 Deputy Director Jagadish.
The two occupants were taken to the Electronic City police station and handed over to Income Tax officials.
Officials identified one occupant as Sachin, a Tuticorin jeweller, and reported recovering another ₹1.3 crore from his premises.
