Vasai Flood Relief Reaches 15,000, While 4,000 Cases Remain
Heavy rain and floods affected many people in the Vasai-Virar and Nalasopara area in July.
Officials checked the losses of nearly 19,000 residents.
Each approved person was supposed to receive ₹20,000.
So far, 15,000 people have received their money.
The government has paid ₹30 crore in total.
About 4,000 people have not received the money because some personal or bank details do not match.
These residents can correct their information online or visit a special camp.
The camp is open at the Vasai Tehsil Office from September 21 to 25, 2026.
Flood losses were assessed for nearly 19,000 residents in Vasai taluka after heavy rainfall between July 5 and 10, 2026.
Government assistance of ₹20,000 each has been transferred to 15,000 eligible beneficiaries.
The payments total ₹30 crore, according to Vasai Tehsildar Deepak Gaikwad.
Around 4,000 cases remain pending because of discrepancies in bank details, names, addresses or other information.
A correction facility and document verification camp are available at the Vasai Tehsil Office from September 21 to 25.
