CAQM Advises Delhi-NCR States to Avoid Winter School Sports
Skip school sports in Nov-Dec: CAQM tells Delhi-NCR, surrounding states · indianexpress.com

Air pollution can make outdoor exercise unsafe for children.

The Commission for Air Quality Management has advised four governments to avoid planning school sports in November and December 2026.

The four areas are Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

Officials should look at the air quality in the specific place where an event would happen.

Sports competitions already planned can be moved to another time.

Governments should also find other chances for students to take part.

Students should not be unfairly punished if a competition is moved.

The advice follows concerns raised by the Supreme Court about children exercising during very polluted winter days.
