Pune’s Kasba Ganpati Immersed After Traditional Visarjan Procession
Pune’s Kasba Ganpati is an important Ganesh idol in the city.
It is called Pune’s gramdaivat, or village deity.
On Friday, people carried the idol in a traditional procession.
The procession started at about 9:30 am after a special puja near Mandai.
Devotees and dhol-tasha performers accompanied the idol through central Pune.
The idol reached Nateshwar Ghat at around 4:40 pm.
It was then immersed in the water.
This began the traditional immersion order for Pune’s five Manache Ganpati.
Shri Kasba Ganpati reached Nateshwar Ghat at about 4:40 pm on Friday and was immersed.
The procession began around 9:30 am after a traditional puja near the Lokmanya Tilak statue at Mandai.
Kasba Ganpati, Pune’s gramdaivat, leads the annual procession of the five Manache Ganpati.
The idol was carried through central Pune amid dhol-tasha performances and a large gathering of devotees.
More than 600 public Ganesh mandals are participating in Pune’s main immersion processions this year.
