Andhra Pradesh races to unlock Central scheme funds
Andhra Pradesh is trying to use more money available from the Central government.

Departments have until December 1, 2026, to finish the required reforms.
Andhra Pradesh is reviewing 86 Centrally Sponsored Schemes for 2026-27 to improve fund utilisation and secure additional incentives.
Of Rs 18,516 crore currently available to departments, Rs 8,694 crore, or 47%, had been spent by September 7.
Panchayat raj and rural development held the largest pool, while water resources recorded the lowest departmental utilisation at 6%.
The government ordered 88 idle SNA accounts across 20 departments to be closed and identified Rs 135 crore lying unspent in such accounts.
Officials are pursuing the re-release of Rs 116.98 crore in cancelled sanctions and must complete prescribed SASCI reforms by December 1, 2026.
