Andhra Pradesh is trying to use more money available from the Central government.

The money supports 86 different development schemes.

Departments had Rs 18,516 crore available, but had spent less than half by September 7.

Some departments used the money quickly, while others spent very little.

The government found Rs 135 crore sitting unused in special bank accounts.

It ordered 88 unused accounts to be closed.

Officials will also ask for Rs 116.98 crore that was cancelled earlier.

The state hopes reforms will bring more funding under a Central incentive programme.

Departments have until December 1, 2026, to finish the required reforms.
