Mumbai Heat Reaches 37.6°C as Air Quality Worsens
Mumbai got hotter after the monsoon ended.
On Sunday, the temperature reached 37.6°C in Santacruz and 36.5°C in Colaba.
Both readings were higher than usual for this time.
A weather official said temperatures would stay around the same for a few days and then fall slightly after October 7.
Air quality also worsened in some parts of the city.
Construction dust and slow winds were among the reasons given.
The city has started washing roads to help reduce dust and heat.
Its pollution plan can stop polluting activities near a monitoring station if the AQI stays above 300 for three days in a row.

Colaba recorded 36.5°C, which was 4.6°C above normal.
