Thousands of government schools in Madhya Pradesh still do not have working electricity.

Without power, schools cannot properly use lights, fans, computers or smart classrooms.

Three electricity companies were asked to connect these schools.

They have completed many connections, but not all of them.

Some schools do not have permanent buildings or nearby electricity lines.

In some places, payment and bill-processing problems have slowed the work.

One education official says only a few schools now remain without power.

However, UDISE+ data from the previous year suggests that nearly 10,000 schools lacked functional electricity.
