Punjabi Influencer Dies After Alleged Burning Attack; Probe Continues
Manjit Kaur, also called Manjeet Kaur in one report, was a 28-year-old social media influencer.
She was badly injured in an alleged attack on July 3.
Her mother said two acquaintances took her away, hurt her and set her on fire.
A friend helped put out the fire and arranged medical care.
Kaur was treated in Morinda, Mohali and Chandigarh before dying at PGIMER on August 26.
A postmortem reportedly found that she was about seven weeks pregnant.
Police have not said whether the pregnancy was related to the attack.
Her mother said police did not come quickly enough to record Kaur’s statement, but police denied failing to cooperate.
