Spotify to Label AI-Generated Songs, Keep Them Out of Recommendations

Spotify is a very popular app where people listen to music.

Sometimes, songs are now made by computers, and this is called AI.

Spotify wants people to know if a song was made by a real artist or by a computer.

So it is adding a label called "AI Personas" to computer-made songs.

Songs with this label won't show up in suggested playlists unless a listener asks for them.

Artists can tell Spotify that their song is AI-made starting on August 11.

The labels will start showing up on songs in the middle of September.

If someone thinks a song was made by AI but it isn't labeled, they can tell Spotify.

If an artist is labeled as AI but really made their song themselves, they can appeal.

This is happening because last year a fake AI band tricked people, and listeners want honesty now.
