Beijing Gears Up for 2026 World Humanoid Robot Games
In August 2026, special games are coming to Beijing, China, where the players are robots that look like people.
These are called humanoid robots.
More than 2,000 robots from 16 countries are getting ready to compete.
They will play soccer, run sprints, lift weights, and play table tennis.
Altogether there are more than 30 events.
Before the games, the robots trained a lot.
Some practiced shooting a ball into a goal, and one even played table tennis with a person.
Robots also practiced falling down safely so they won't break during the games.
The competition will show the world how good robots have become at moving and doing tasks on their own.
Beijing will host the second World Humanoid Robot Games from August 22-26, 2026.
Approximately 2,056 humanoid robots from 16 countries are set to compete.
More than 30 events span football, sprinting, weightlifting, table tennis and practical tasks.
