Amit Shah Presents President's Colours to Puducherry Police
A very important leader named Amit Shah came to visit a place called Puducherry in India.
He is the Home Minister, the person in charge of keeping the whole country safe.
He came to give the police a very special honour called the President's Colours.
The ceremony took place at a big police parade ground.
Because he is so important, almost one thousand police officers and soldiers were there to protect him.
Before reaching Puducherry, he stopped at a famous old temple and a peaceful ashram in a nearby town.
Roads were closed or changed so that cars could not get in the way of his travel.
Flying drones or toy planes was also banned in some areas to keep the sky safe.
People in Puducherry saw lots of barricades and police on the streets.
It was all done to make sure the visit was safe and smooth.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah presented the President's Colours to the Puducherry Police at the Gorimedu Police Parade Ground on Sunday.
Around 1,000 security personnel, including eight companies of the CRPF, were deployed across the Union Territory for the visit.
Shah arrived by helicopter from Chennai on Saturday night after visiting the Arunachaleswarar Temple and Sri Ramana Maharshi Ashram in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu.
Traffic diversions were enforced from 2 pm Saturday on the East Coast Road and Tindivanam Road, with restrictions from Sunday 5.30 am.
Authorities declared areas under Oulgaret Municipality a no-fly zone on August 8 and 9, banning drones, UAVs and other aerial devices.
