Amit Shah offers prayers at Arunachaleswara temple, visits Puducherry
Mr. Amit Shah is an important leader in India who looks after the country's safety and is called the Union Home Minister.
On Saturday, he went to a temple town called Tiruvannamalai in southern India.
There, he visited a big and famous temple called Sri Arunachaleswara, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
He also visited a peaceful place called Sri Ramanasramam and offered worship there.
He flew from the city of Mumbai and then rode in a helicopter to reach Tiruvannamalai.
After the temple visit, he travelled to a small region called Puducherry, which is about 110 km away.
Important leaders of Puducherry, including its Chief Minister, warmly welcomed him at a place called Lok Niwas.
The next day, the minister will give a special flag to the Puducherry police and open a celebration called "Har Ghar Tiranga Yatra."
Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Tiruvannamalai on Saturday and offered prayers at the Sri Arunachaleswara temple.
He also visited Sri Ramanasramam in Tiruvannamalai and offered worship there.
Shah flew in from Mumbai and travelled the roughly 200 km from Chennai to Tiruvannamalai by helicopter.
In Puducherry, he was received at Lok Niwas by Lieutenant Governor K Kailashnathan and Chief Minister N Rangasamy.
On August 9, he is scheduled to present the President's colours to Puducherry police and inaugurate the "Har Ghar Tiranga Yatra".
