Two men waiting for trial allegedly escaped from a high-security jail in Srinagar.

Their names are Farman Khan and Mukhtar Ahmad Gujjar.

Officials said they climbed over the prison’s front-side wall.

Both men are accused under a law that protects children from sexual offences.

Khan’s case was registered at Lar police station.

Gujjar’s separate case was registered at Soura police station.

Police are searching for them and have placed notices at Kashmir’s exit points.

Police have also asked the public to share useful information and started an inquiry into how the escape happened.
