Mizoram Eye Donation Pledges Reach 9,345 After 33 Additions
Thirty-three students in Mizoram promised to donate their eyes after they die.

The eye bank collected 42 corneas during the current financial year through July.
Doctors have already performed 23 corneal transplants during that period.
Thirty-three students pledged to donate their eyes after death during the 41st Eye Donation Fortnight programme in Aizawl.
The pledges brought Mizoram’s total registered and pledged eye donors to 9,345, up from 9,312.
The eye bank has 400 registered recipients, while 632 people have donated their eyes after death.
The eye bank retrieved 42 corneas during the current fiscal year through July and performed 23 corneal transplants.
Families of 67 donors received appreciation certificates for donations made during the 2025-26 year.
