Bandaru Dattatreya met members of the Gulf Indian community in Hyderabad.

The meeting honoured Mohammed Quaiser, who helps Indians living in Riyadh.

Quaiser said Gulf workers face problems that have not yet been solved.

He asked the Indian government to officially recognise them as contract labourers.

He believes this could help them receive government benefits when they return to India.

Dattatreya said he would take their concerns to the central government.

He asked the community to prepare a written list of its requests.

A small group will deliver that proposal to him.
