BJP Seeks 10x Compensation for Karkhana Property Owners
The government wants to build a new raised road, called an elevated corridor, in the city of Hyderabad.
To build it, some people in an area called Karkhana may lose their homes and shops.
A leader named Mr. Ramchander Rao wrote a letter to the Chief Minister, Mr. Revanth Reddy.
He asked the government to pay the owners ten times what their property is worth.
He thinks this is fair because they are losing their homes and their jobs.
He said that in another place called Tumkunta, owners were paid ten times the value of their property.
He wants the government to check current property prices and talk to the residents before taking their properties.
The payments should be made before anyone's property is taken away.
This way, the road can be built while the people are treated fairly.
State BJP president N. Ramchander Rao urged the government to pay compensation at 10 times the actual property value to Karkhana property owners.
The affected homes and commercial establishments in Karkhana face acquisition for the proposed elevated corridor on Rajiv Rahadari.
Rao wrote to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy seeking a property-wise reassessment based on prevailing market values.
He cited Tumkunta, where he claimed compensation was 10 times the actual property value, as the basis for his demand.
Rao said the revised compensation should be finalised in consultation with affected residents and paid before their properties are taken over.
