Minister Says Pattiseema Created Rs 50,000 Crore in Wealth
Pattiseema is a project that moves water from the Godavari River to the Krishna delta.
Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu said it has moved nearly 500 tmc ft of water since 2015.
He said the project cost about Rs 1,600 crore and helped create wealth worth an estimated Rs 50,000 crore.
This year, he said, nearly 57 tmc ft was sent to the delta.
He said this water helped irrigate nearly seven lakh acres and supply drinking water to around 30 lakh people.
The minister said the delta therefore needed less water from the Srisailam reservoir.
He said that water could be used for Rayalaseema and areas served by Nagarjuna Sagar.
Ramanaidu praised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for the project and said it was completed before the Polavaram project.
