UP Government Expands Health Cover, Honorariums for Grassroots Workers

The Uttar Pradesh government announced new benefits for several groups of workers.

These groups include PRD volunteers, school cooks, and Anganwadi workers and helpers.

They help with public services, children’s meals, nutrition, and child development.

Covered workers and their families can receive cashless medical treatment worth up to ₹5 lakh each year.

This means they may not need to arrange a large amount of money before receiving treatment at approved hospitals.

School cooks will also receive ₹1,000 more each month.

Anganwadi workers and helpers will receive higher monthly honorariums as well.

The government said the measures are meant to improve both workers’ incomes and their families’ health security.
