Jet Airways Founder Naresh Goyal Ordered to Appear for Charges
Mumbai: Special PMLA Court Directs Jet Airways Founder Naresh Goyal To Appear For Framing Of Charges, Refuses Further Adjournment · freepressjournal.in

A special court in Mumbai told the founder of Jet Airways, a big airline company, to come before it for the next step in his case.

The founder's name is Naresh Goyal, and the court is called a PMLA special court.

The court wants to begin 'framing of charges,' which is when the judge formally reads what a person is accused of.

Mr. Goyal's lawyer asked the judge to wait, because the defence wanted to file a request to dismiss the case.

The judge refused, saying the case has been going on since 2023.

For about three years, Mr. Goyal did not take any steps to file that request.

A government agency called the Enforcement Directorate says Mr. Goyal took more than 5,700 crore rupees from Jet Airways for himself and his family.

That is an enormous amount of money, many times more than most people will ever see.

The judge warned that the accused cannot be given more time every time the case appears in court.

The next hearing is scheduled for August 10.
