MCC Withdraws Notice, Issues Fresh NEET SS 2025 Counselling Dates
Every year in India, doctors take a big test called NEET SS if they want to study very advanced medical subjects.
This test is called the Super Speciality exam.
After the test, there is a process called counselling, in which doctors choose the courses they want.
A group called the Medical Counselling Committee, or MCC, runs this process.
Earlier, MCC released a notice about the second round of counselling.
Some doctors took the matter to a court in Delhi, asking to be allowed to take part in this round.
The judge agreed, so these doctors were allowed to join the second round.
MCC cancelled its old notice and made a new schedule.
Doctors can now register from August 9 to August 10, 2026, and the list of who gets which seat comes out on August 13, 2026.
Extra seats from Tamil Nadu were also added to the list of available seats.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) withdrew its August 3 notification and released a revised Round 2 counselling schedule for NEET SS 2025.
The revised schedule follows the Delhi High Court's August 5, 2026 order in Sunil and Another vs Medical Counselling Committee, permitting petitioner candidates to re-register for Round 2.
Fresh registration will run from 10 AM on August 9 to 6 PM on August 10, 2026, with choice locking available on August 11.
The Round 2 seat allotment result will be declared on August 13, 2026, and allotted candidates must report to institutes from August 14 to 20, 2026.
MCC added 153 vacant in-service super speciality seats from Tamil Nadu following a Supreme Court order of July 28, 2026, and withdrew eight seats at the request of five institutes.
