PARIVARTAN Scheme Offers Incentives for Cleaner Commercial Vehicles
PARIVARTAN is a government programme to replace older, more polluting commercial vehicles.
It applies to certain trucks and buses in Delhi and nearby parts of Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.
Owners can replace old vehicles with electric, BS-VI diesel, or CNG vehicles.
People buying electric vehicles may get up to ₹2.56 lakh.
People choosing eligible diesel or CNG vehicles may receive fuel vouchers each month for five years.
Buyers can also save 5% on vehicle-loan interest for five years.
Vehicle makers must provide at least an 8% discount on eligible replacement vehicles.
The programme also includes some tax, registration, and old-liability concessions.
The Union Cabinet approved PARIVARTAN on June 3, 2026, with a ₹9,585 crore outlay.
The scheme targets more than two lakh older trucks and buses in Delhi and nearby NCR districts.
Electric vehicle buyers can receive incentives of ₹64,000 to ₹2.56 lakh.
Owners choosing eligible BS-VI diesel or CNG vehicles can receive monthly fuel vouchers of ₹1,200 to ₹4,800 for five years.
The programme also offers five-year loan interest subvention, an OEM discount, and tax and registration concessions.
