Neeraj Chopra wins Commonwealth silver after 10-month injury comeback

Neeraj Chopra is a famous javelin thrower from India.

A javelin is a long spear-like object that athletes throw as far as they can.

He competed at the Commonwealth Games, a big sports event for countries that were once part of the British Empire.

The Games were held in Glasgow, Scotland.

Chopra won a silver medal by throwing the javelin 85.83 meters, which was his best throw this year.

Another athlete from Sri Lanka, Rumesh Pathirage, threw even farther and won gold.

Before this, Chopra was hurt for about ten months and had to work very hard to get better.

He was not even sure he would be able to compete this year.

Because of this, his silver medal was a huge achievement.

He thanked his coach, his physio, and his family for helping him recover.

Chopra says he will keep competing in more events later this season.
