PM E-DRIVE Helps TVS Scale India’s Electric Two-Wheelers
India is encouraging people to buy electric vehicles through a program called PM E-DRIVE.
Electric two-wheelers, such as electric scooters, have made up most of the vehicles supported by the program.
By September 17, 2026, 26.39 lakh electric two-wheelers had been registered under it.
The program helps reduce the price buyers pay and also supports buses, chargers and testing facilities.
TVS used this growing demand to offer more electric scooters and commercial vehicles.
It says it delivered 3.71 lakh electric two-wheelers in one financial year.
TVS has also expanded its dealers, charging access and manufacturing capacity.
The company makes several important EV parts and systems in-house.
The next challenge is making electric-vehicle demand continue even when incentives become less important.
TVS presented data showing 26.39 lakh electric two-wheelers registered under PM E-DRIVE by September 17, 2026.
The PM E-DRIVE scheme has an outlay of Rs 11,900 crore and runs through March 31, 2028.
TVS says it delivered 3.71 lakh electric two-wheelers in FY2025-26 and operates more than 1,000 EV dealers.
The company has launched 10 electric products and produced its one-millionth iQube at its Hosur facility in June 2026.
TVS said future priorities include reliable charging, greater domestic value addition, recycling and export competitiveness.
