Pro-military party wins Suu Kyi's seat in Myanmar polls

In Myanmar, the pro-military party won a very important seat in the parliament that used to belong to Aung San Suu Kyi, who is a famous leader for democracy.

She was put in jail by the military after they took control of the country in 2021.

The military says they did this because they thought the previous election was not fair.

Now, they are having new elections in three parts, and the pro-military party won Suu Kyi's old seat in the second part.

The last part of the elections will happen on January 25.

Many people who support democracy say these elections are not fair because Suu Kyi is still in jail and her party is not allowed to participate.

There are 4,863 candidates running, and 1,018 of them are from the military-backed party.

The military also gets to choose 25% of the seats in the parliament.
