AkinAnalytics launches indigenous NIKA2 Kisan drone for farmers
A company called AkinAnalytics, from Hyderabad in India, has made a new drone for farmers.
The drone is called NIKA2, and it was designed and built in India.
It can spray liquids, like plant medicine, on crops.
It can also spread dry material, like feed for fish on fish farms.
The drone can carry 16 litres for spraying and 12 litres for spreading.
Farmers can quickly change the containers, so one drone can do many jobs.
The drone can follow the shape of the land, keep working safely even if something goes wrong, and fly at night.
A very important minister named Shivraj Singh Chouhan showed the drone to people in New Delhi.
The company is led by Janaki Pulaparthi, who says the goal is to solve real problems for farmers with Indian-made technology.
The Indian government has helped the company through several programs.
Hyderabad-based women-led deeptech startup AkinAnalytics launched its indigenous NIKA2 Kisan Medium Drone for farmers.
Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan unveiled the drone and witnessed a demonstration in New Delhi.
NIKA2 features a 16-litre spraying payload and a 12-litre spreading payload with an easy payload-change mechanism for multiple farm operations.
The drone offers terrain-following, fail-safe and night-operation capabilities, suited to uneven landscapes such as tea-growing areas in Shillong and Meghalaya, plus aquaculture feed distribution.
AkinAnalytics has received support from NIDHI PRAYAS, Startup India Seed Fund Scheme, MeitY SAMRIDH and iDEX, and runs a DGCA-authorised Remote Pilot Training Organisation in Amalapuram, Andhra Pradesh.
