Karnataka reservoirs gain 35.5 TMC as heavy rains trigger inflows
A lot of rain fell in Karnataka, a state in India.
The rain filled up the state's big water tanks, which are called reservoirs.
In just one day, the reservoirs gained a huge amount of water, measured as 35.5 TMC.
The Krishna river area received the most water.
The Hydel and Cauvery river areas also got more water.
Right now, the reservoirs are about 63% full.
Officials opened the dams to let some water out safely.
This helps stop the water from overflowing.

Heavy rainfall across catchment areas added 35.5 TMC of water to Karnataka's major reservoirs in a single day, per the KSNDMC report of August 5.
The Krishna basin recorded the highest addition at 25.1 TMC, followed by the Hydel basin (6.2 TMC) and the Cauvery basin (4.1 TMC).
Cumulative water storage across all major reservoirs now stands at 565.26 TMC, about 63% of the state's total capacity of 895.65 TMC.
Authorities discharged a total outflow of 187,116 cusecs across various reservoirs to manage rising water levels.
Almatti dam leads the Krishna basin with 110.85 TMC storage, receiving an inflow of 147,675 cusecs and releasing 150,433 cusecs.
