India, Sri Lanka discuss bilateral ties and global issues

India and Sri Lanka are neighbours and close friends.

A top Indian diplomat named Vikram Misri travelled to Colombo, Sri Lanka's capital.

There, he met Sri Lankan officials to talk about how the two countries can work together.

They discussed helping each other and other important world issues.

India said Sri Lanka is very important to its foreign policy.

Misri also met Sri Lanka's Foreign Minister to review ongoing projects between the countries.

Before that, India gave Sri Lanka a chemical called Malathion to help fight dengue, a disease spread by mosquitoes.

Last year, India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Sri Lanka, and the two countries signed seven agreements.

These regular visits help keep India and Sri Lanka good friends.
