Bhiwandi Flyover Potholes Prompt Proposed ₹9 Crore Repairs

The 795-metre APJ Abdul Kalam Flyover in Bhiwandi has developed large potholes, damaged expansion joints and an uneven road surface.
The Bhiwandi-Nizampur City Municipal Corporation says the entire surface requires overlaying rather than patchwork repairs.
A Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute structural audit estimated repair costs at around ₹9 crore.
Residents say accidents occur frequently on the flyover and that several people have died in crashes over the years.
The flyover’s cost rose from ₹31.60 crore to nearly ₹62 crore before its inauguration in November 2015.
