Nellore Officials Push District Toward Industrial Hub Status
Officials in Nellore want the district to become a major place for industries.
Collector Himanshu Shukla asked government workers to help make this happen.
There were 405 applications from people seeking to start industries.
Officials approved 365 of them, while the others were still being checked.
The Collector said applications should be handled through a Single Desk Portal.
Nellore already has 11 mega industries.
These industries have invested Rs 43,650 crore and employ 16,380 people.
The district also has large industries and many small businesses that provide jobs to many people.
