Two Arrested in Udupi Over Allegedly Forged Aadhaar Bail Document
Police in Udupi arrested two men in a case involving an allegedly fake Aadhaar card.
The card was reportedly used during a court hearing about bail.
Police say the card used one person’s Aadhaar number but showed another person’s name and address.
They allege this was done to pretend someone else was appearing in the case.
The document was allegedly shown in court on January 30, 2026.
A court administrative officer later filed a complaint.
Police formed a special team to investigate and find the suspects.
The two arrested men are now in judicial custody.
Udupi Town police arrested Umar Farooq Bantwal and Nishanth Kumar of Mangaluru.
Police allege a forged Aadhaar card was submitted during a bail proceeding involving an accused named Noman.
The document allegedly used Prashanth’s Aadhaar number but substituted the name and address of KT Mohammed.
The forged document was allegedly presented before the Udupi District and Sessions Court on January 30, 2026.
The two men were produced before court and placed in judicial custody, police said.
