Delhi SIR Notices Cleared for Most Prominent Voters After Verification
Delhi officials are checking voter records in a process called the Special Intensive Revision.
Some well-known people received notices because their records did not match older voter lists.
The notices did not automatically mean that their names would be removed.
Election workers visited many of these voters and checked their documents.
Officials said most of the prominent voters were successfully verified.
Their names were reserved for the final voter list.
The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on November 4.
People must be given a chance to explain their records before any name can be deleted.

L K Advani, Jagdeep Dhankhar, S Jaishankar, Rekha Gupta and Arvind Kejriwal were among those issued notices.
Many notices cited voters as "unmapped with last SIR" in Delhi in 2002.
Officials reserved the verified voters’ names for inclusion in the final electoral roll due November 4.
The draft roll lists more than 97 lakh electors, while about 33.13 lakh were flagged for discrepancies.
