British prosecutors have charged a 31-year-old man named Joshua Cammidge.

They say he helped a foreign intelligence service and prepared an act of sabotage.

Prosecutors allege that he communicated with a representative of a group called the GRU Volunteer Corps.

They say the group is controlled by Russia’s military intelligence agency, known as the GRU.

Counterterrorism officers arrested Cammidge in Swindon on September 4.

He is expected to attend court in London on Thursday.

The charges come as relations between Britain and Russia are very tense.

Russia’s embassy in London has not yet responded to the allegations.
