Bandi Sanjay Praises SSB’s Technology-Driven Border Security Efforts

Bandi Sanjay Kumar praised the Sashastra Seema Bal, or SSB, for protecting India’s borders with Nepal and Bhutan.

The force guards about 2,450 kilometres of international borders.

It uses tools such as drones, cameras, night-vision equipment and GPS to help its personnel work safely.

The minister opened new buildings for SSB personnel in Lucknow.

He also launched construction projects in Gorakhpur and Maharajganj.

The government has approved Rs 191 crore for these projects.

The SSB works against crimes such as drug smuggling, arms trafficking and illegal migration.

It also helps people during floods, earthquakes and landslides.

The force runs medical, education, skills and other programmes for border communities.
