IMD Forecasts Widespread Rain and Thunderstorms Across India

India’s weather office says many parts of the country may get rain during the coming week.

Some places may also have thunderstorms and lightning.

The wet weather is expected to continue in different regions until 19 September.

Northwest India may be rainy between 15 and 17 September.

Central and eastern India may have several rainy spells.

Northeastern India is expected to stay wet at first, with less widespread rain later.

Parts of western and southern India may also receive rain.

This forecast comes after India received less monsoon rain than usual.

The country had 15% less rain than normal from 1 June to 12 September.
