Pawar Leads NCP MPs to Modi Meeting Amid Delimitation Push

A very important leader in India, Sharad Pawar, took eight other leaders from his party to meet the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

The Prime Minister is one of the most powerful people in the country.

The leaders said they talked about things their areas need, like new trains and help for farmers.

Some people thought they might be talking about changing how many leaders each state can send to Parliament.

The party said no, they only talked about helping the people in their areas.

There is a plan to do a special counting called delimitation.

This plan is connected to giving more seats to women in Parliament.

The plan needs many, many votes to pass, but it was voted down in April.

The government is now trying to get other parties to agree to it.

A different party, the Akali Dal, already said they would help, and the government might call a special meeting later this month to try again.
