Bengaluru Voters Tagged 'Absent Untraceable' in Voter List Revision
In a city called Bengaluru, grown-ups who are supposed to vote found something strange on their voter list.
The list now says some of them are 'absent' or 'not traceable,' even though they live in their own homes.
This happened during a special check of the voter list called the Special Intensive Revision.
The Election Commission is the group that takes care of voter lists, and they ran this check in the state of Karnataka.
The check lasted more than a month and finishes on Saturday.
Some people, like T. Raghavan and Viswabharath, shared their problems online.
They said they filled out forms, but the Booth Level Officer, who is the person in charge of their area's list, still marked them wrongly.
One officer even said she did not know how the process worked.
The voters are worried their names might get removed from the list.
Officials are telling people to talk to their Booth Level Officer quickly to fix mistakes before it is too late.
The Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Karnataka flagged some Bengaluru residents as 'absent/untraceable' or 'permanently shifted' despite them living at their addresses.

Resident T. Raghavan said he and his son Aadrash Raghavan were marked ASDDO, which stands for Absent, Shift of Address, Dead, Duplicate and others, despite submitting Enumeration Forms.
Resident Viswabharath reported that his family in Malleshwaram was tagged ASDDO and that the concerned Booth Level Officer said she was 'unaware of the process.'
Officials asked affected residents to contact their Booth Level Officers to get corrections done before their names are deleted from the voter list.
