Vijayawada Police Investigate Gold Robbery and Temple Theft
Two alleged thefts were reported in Vijayawada.
In the first incident, a 60-year-old woman was alone at home on Tuesday night.
A person wearing a burqa allegedly entered and threatened her with what looked like a pistol.
The person reportedly took gold jewellery weighing more than 114 grams.
Police are studying CCTV footage to identify the suspect.
In a separate incident, thieves allegedly broke open a temple donation box.
They took cash and offerings from the box.
Police found tools at the temple and are investigating both cases.
An elderly woman was allegedly robbed of more than 114 grams of gold in Vijayawada on Tuesday night.
Police said an unidentified man wearing a burqa threatened Padma, 60, with what appeared to be a pistol.
The suspect allegedly took her mangalsutra, another gold chain and bangles before fleeing.
CCTV footage from the house and nearby areas is being examined to identify and trace the suspect.
In a separate incident, a temple hundi was broken open and cash and offerings were stolen early Wednesday.
