Police in Telangana are investigating the death of 33-year-old Ankathi Manasa.

Her body was found inside the boot of a car parked in an isolated place.

Police allege that her partner, Vinod, strangled her.

They say Manasa’s father, Rajesham, asked Vinod to kill her because he believed she had brought shame to the family.

Manasa and Vinod had reportedly been childhood friends and were in a relationship.

She had asked him to marry her before they argued.

Vinod first told investigators that she had died after suffering a seizure.

Police say he later confessed and described her father’s alleged instructions.
