Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge Reviews Security for Independence Festival
On August 15, India celebrates its Independence Day.
In the state of Karnataka, officials are getting ready for the very first public 'Independence Festival–2026.'
The festival will be held at a famous, historic building in Bengaluru called Vidhana Soudha.
It will last from 11 o'clock in the morning until 10 o'clock at night.
Visitors can enjoy a big parade, a children's fair, quiz competitions, cultural shows, a music concert, and stalls selling food and handicrafts.
A lot of people are expected, especially for the evening music show and fireworks.
To keep everyone safe, Minister Priyank Kharge met with police and city officials to review security and traffic plans.
He asked them to manage crowds well, keep traffic moving smoothly, and have emergency services ready.
All the departments will work together so everyone can celebrate safely and happily.
Karnataka's Home, IT, Biotechnology and e-Governance Minister Priyank Kharge reviewed security and traffic arrangements for the Independence Festival–2026 at Vidhana Soudha.
The state's first public Independence Festival will be held on August 15 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the historic Vidhana Soudha.
Programmes include 'The People's India Parade', a special Vidhana Soudha tour, a children's fair, quiz competitions, cultural programmes, a musical concert, and food and handicraft exhibitions.
Kharge directed special attention to security and crowd management during the evening musical programme and fireworks display.
Officials were told to ensure smooth traffic, pedestrian safety and adequate emergency services, with departments working in close coordination.
