India Targets 25% Women Share in Aviation Workforce
A minister in charge of civil aviation in India made a big announcement.
Ram Mohan Naidu is the Union Civil Aviation Minister of India.
He said the government wants more women to work in aviation.
Aviation includes flying planes, working at airports, and jobs connected to flying.
Right now, about 15 out of every 100 pilots in India are women.
In the rest of the world, only about 5 out of every 100 pilots are women.
That means India already has more women pilots than most other countries.
The minister wants to raise the share of women in the whole aviation workforce to 25 per cent.
This includes airport jobs and even new areas like electric flying vehicles.
He hopes this will inspire more girls and women to build careers in aviation.

Naidu said India's progress on women's participation needs to be built upon and expressed hope more women would pursue aviation careers.
