Kerala temple set for wedding rush, 377 booked
A famous temple in Kerala called the Guruvayur Sree Krishna temple is getting ready for a very busy day.
On August 23, 377 couples plan to get married there.
That is a lot of weddings in just one day!
The temple helpers say even more couples might book, so the number could pass 400.
Many more weddings are already planned for August 30 too.
Weddings will start very early in the morning, at 4 am, so everyone can get their turn.
Six special wedding stages, called mandapams, are being set up.
Only a small number of people can stand near the stage because it will be so crowded.
The temple is also bringing in extra staff, security and police to help everything go smoothly.
Last year, the temple saw a record 334 weddings in a single day, but this time there will be even more.
377 marriages are booked at Kerala's Guruvayur Sree Krishna temple for August 23, with the count expected to cross 400 as bookings remain open.
An additional 295 weddings are already scheduled for August 30.
Weddings on both dates will begin at 4 am, with six mandapams arranged to complete ceremonies on time.
Only 24 people, including photographers, will be allowed near the wedding mandapam with the bride and groom due to the unprecedented rush.
The temple saw a record 334 weddings on September 8, 2025.
