Odisha Launches Overseas Scholarship for SC, ST Students
Odisha has started a new scholarship for SC and ST students.
The scholarship is called Bidesh Sikhyabruti.
It helps students study for postgraduate or PhD degrees in other countries.
Students must be admitted to a university ranked among the world’s top 200.
Their family income must not be more than ₹12 lakh a year.
The government will choose 50 students each year.
Each selected student can receive up to ₹25 lakh per year for eligible costs.
Applications for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 academic years are open from August 18 to August 31.
Odisha introduced Bidesh Sikhyabruti for SC and ST students pursuing postgraduate or PhD studies abroad.
Applicants must have annual family income of no more than ₹12 lakh.
Applications for 2025-26 and 2026-27 can be submitted from August 18 to August 31.
The scheme will support 50 students each year, with each student eligible once.
Assistance can cover tuition, living and incidental expenses up to ₹25 lakh per student per course per year.
