Central Railway GM honours 12 employees with Safety Awards
A big train company in India called Central Railway had a special day on 11 August 2026, when its leader, the General Manager, gave Safety Awards to 12 workers.
These workers were praised because they were very careful and quick-thinking while doing their jobs.
For example, one worker noticed a very hot wheel on a passing goods train and stopped it in time.
Another spotted a crack on a train coach, and one even saw a fire in a train's brake van.
Some workers found broken tracks or a leaning iron post and told the right people before anything bad happened.
One worker helped a woman safely give birth to a baby at Pune station, and another pulled a passenger away from a moving train.
Eleven more workers in Mumbai were also given special awards because they warned everyone about landslides caused by heavy rain on the Karjat-Lonavala mountain section and helped fix things afterwards.
Each award included a medal, a certificate, a special note and some money.
The event showed that paying attention and acting fast can keep passengers safe.
