Karnataka SIR Delivers Over 4.35 Million Notices, Receives Applications
Karnataka is checking and updating its voter lists.
As part of this work, officials sent notices to people whose records were marked “No Mapping” or “Anomalies.”
More than 4.35 million notices have been delivered.
A smaller number are still waiting to be delivered.
Officials also received 91,278 Form 7 applications between June 16 and October 4.
Chief Electoral Officer V Anbukkumar said that nobody has been removed from the voter list so far.
He said that an objection by itself does not remove a person’s name.
Karnataka has delivered 43,55,818 notices as part of its Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
The CEO’s office generated 43,82,313 notices, with 26,495 still undelivered, for a reported delivery rate of 99.40 per cent.
The notices concern electors in the “No Mapping” and “Anomalies” categories.
A total of 91,278 Form 7 applications were received between June 16 and October 4.
Chief Electoral Officer V Anbukkumar said no voter has been deleted so far and filing an objection does not automatically cause deletion.
