CJI Surya Kant: Case backlog reduced, technology schemes effective

In India, the top judge of the country's courts is called the Chief Justice of India.

That judge is Surya Kant.

He said that courts are getting better at dealing with their pending work.

Long ago, courts had a huge pile of cases waiting to be heard.

He said that pile is much smaller than it was 10 or 20 years ago.

He thanked technology, like computers and smart systems, for helping courts finish cases faster.

He spoke about this at a big meeting in Indore.

The meeting was organized by the National Legal Services Authority, which helps people get legal help.

Important leaders, including the Union Law Minister and the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, attended too.

He also said every court case is different and must be judged by its own facts.
