Nagaland’s 1979 Life Revisited Through Japanese Photographer Yuzo Morita’s Archive
A photography exhibition in Kohima shows what life in Nagaland looked like in 1979.
The pictures were taken by Japanese photographer Yuzo Morita.
They show people, traditions, landscapes and everyday activities.
Morita is now 86 years old.
The exhibition also introduced an online collection of photographs and information about Naga artefacts.
Japan’s National Museum of Ethnology has about 250 artefacts connected to the Naga people.
Nagaland officials and the museum are working together to study and preserve this cultural history.
The exhibition is meant to help people remember and understand traditions that are still valued today.
