AITA Adopts New Constitution, Aligns with NSG Act
The All India Tennis Association (AITA) recently updated its rules to follow the new National Sports Governance Act.
This happened at a big meeting in New Delhi where many representatives from different states discussed and voted on the changes.
The new rules make sure that decisions are made in a fair and democratic way.
Each state will have two votes, and there will be special spots for famous tennis players and players with disabilities.
The meeting was very long, but everyone agreed on most things.
The AITA is one of the first sports groups in India to make these changes, and they have until the end of 2026 to make sure all state groups also update their rules.
AITA adopted amendments to its constitution to comply with the National Sports Governance Act, 2025.
The amendments were approved at an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) in New Delhi.
Each state association will now have two votes in the General Body.
The Executive Committee has been restructured to include more diverse representation.
The AITA has until December 31, 2026, to ensure all affiliated state associations amend their constitutions.
