Calcutta High Court orders EWS certificate for NEET-UG aspirant

He passed a big medical entrance test called NEET-UG.

To get a seat in a medical college, he needs a special paper called an EWS certificate.

This paper helps students from families with less money.

The government office did not give him the paper because his mother's name was missing from the voter list.

The voter list is a record of people who can vote in elections.

His mother's name was removed during a special update called SIR.

A judge at the Calcutta High Court said the office must check if the student is eligible.

If he is eligible, he should get the certificate right away.

The judge will hear the case again in September.
